Every January, Microsoft (Microsoft Research New England (MSRNE)) offers graduate students a 12-week Social Media Collective (SMC) summer internship.

What will you do?
Interns should conduct research off-topic PhD thesis , attend weekly seminars, and regularly interact with fellow interns and academics.
What result?
The result of the internship and research will be an article in a journal or participation in a conference. Also, interns will give short presentations on their project.
Who can participate?
The candidate should be interested in issues related to media, communication technologies, society and culture, and be interested in working in an interdisciplinary environment (among scientists, mathematicians, economists).
How do you apply?
You need to complete the following points:
- a short description (no more than 2 pages) of 1 or 2 projects on which you plan to work during the internship;
- a short description of the PhD thesis project;
- academic article (no more than 7000 words) the author or co-author of which you were (published or unpublished);
- CV;
- names and contact details of 3 referrers;
- if possible, a link to your website or online presentation (optional).
